The GSC (Global Solar Council) and ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy) will promote, on November 14th, a special event at COP 30, in Belém (PA).
The event aims to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the GSC, an entity created during COP21 in Paris, with the mission of unifying and strengthening the voice of the solar sector at a global level.
The celebration will take place on the “Energy Themed Day” of the climate conference and will bring together representatives from governments, companies, NGOs and institutions in the sector.
The meeting aims to reflect on the evolution of solar energy and discuss strategies to ensure this source plays an even more central role in the energy transition by 2030. The event also highlights Brazil's leadership in advancing solar energy in Latin America.
“Celebrating 10 years of GSC in COP 30 It's a proud moment. Solar energy has become the world's most competitive electricity source and an essential pillar of the climate solution," said Rodrigo Sauaia, president of the GSC and executive director of ABSOLAR.
In addition to Sauaia, Sonia Dunlop, CEO of the GSC, and Florian Wessendorf, CEO of Solar Promotion International, have also confirmed their attendance. Both emphasize the role of solar technology as a driver of innovation, job creation, and global competitiveness.
Founded as a non-profit organization, the GSC works on policy formulation, financing, training, sustainability and government support, with a focus on accelerating the adoption of solar solutions worldwide.
