O Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of unesp (São Paulo State University) of Botucatu received the energy efficiency project executed by CPFL Paulista. The photovoltaic project contains 2.165 solar panels, with installed capacity of 1.188 kWp.

The project is part of the CPFL program in Hospitals and had an investment of about R $ million 10 in actions to optimize the hospital's energy consumption, which will generate 2.781,70 MWh per annum.

Beyond the photovoltaic system, investments include the replacement of 2 thousand traditional lamps for LED lamps, the exchange of 13 Coolers by Most Advanced Technology Devices and modernization of two chillers (equipment that makes up the hospital's environmental cooling infrastructure).

“We invested almost R$ 10 million in energy solutions which offer one of the main hospitals in Brazil the possibility of managing its resources in an even more efficient and sustainable way”, highlighted Roberto Sartori, CEO of CPFL Paulista.

"In this way, we reinforce our commitment to bringing much more than energy to the cities where we operate. After all, with the reduction in electricity costs, other needs can be prioritized, which directly benefits the entire region that depends on the services provided by the unit”, added Sartori.

"The implementation of this hospital context project is essential for better performance not only socio-environmental, but also governance, which, in turn, is linked to financial performance”, stated José Carlos Souza Trindade Filho, superintendent of the hospital.

"Our goal is that patient care and environmental care are always aligned, also thinking about raising awareness among future generations, promoting a more humane, practical approach aligned with the demands of society and future generations”, he concluded.

CPFL Program in Hospitals

CPFL Paulista's energy efficiency project was submitted and approved by the Energy Efficiency Priority Project Call No. 003/2022 of the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

Awarded by the UN as an example of good practice linked to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the CPFL nos Hospitais program is an action that is part of the commitments of the CPFL Energia Group's ESG 2030 Plan. The initiative promotes energy efficiency and better service to the population in public and philanthropic hospitals.

In the first phase of the program, R$155 million were invested to benefit 325 hospitals. By 2025, there will be an additional R$140 million to support at least 175 more healthcare institutions located in the concession areas of the Group's four distributors (CPFL Paulista, CPFL Piratininga, CPFL Santa Cruz and RGE).
