According to the study, of the 17,2 GW of installed power that existed in January this year in the DG segment, just over 14,2 GW had been generated through low voltage plants.

According to a Bernardo Marangon, managing partner of Exata Energia, the numbers presented by the study only show that distributed generation next to the load – in addition to being the largest part of the market – will continue to prosper over the next few years.
“Even though the sector has these changes that took place in Law 14.300, which end up harming remote and shared generation much more, I understand that the DG market will continue to grow”, he said.
“It may not grow as strong as before, because we lost some of the compensation, but it still remains an excellent investment”, he added.
The executive highlighted that the fact that there is more power installed in low voltage than in the others further reinforces the investment opportunity in projects of energy storage next to the load, using batteries.
