A Home Energy, solar energy company in GD (distributed generation) announced the raising of R$600 million in green bonds (green bonds), through its subsidiary in Brazil. Bradesco BBI is the intermediary institution in the operation.

Green Bonds are debt securities and aims to support sustainable projects with environmental benefits.

The amount will be used for the expansion of the company and will be applied in the structuring, implementation, construction, commissioning and operation of distributed generation projects.

The forecast is that more than 150 will be installed solar farms, and that it is more than 245 MWp of installed capacity in several Brazilian states.

“We are proud to lead this important step towards promoting solar energy in Brazil, in a business model that plays a relevant role in democratizing consumers’ access to this clean energy matrix”, comments Surya Mendonça, CEO of Órigo Energia.

“With this issuance, we are contributing to a greener and more sustainable future, while at the same time creating economic opportunities”, he concludes.

The importance of Green Bonds

The issuance of Green Bonds brings socio-environmental benefits relevant and tangible, including support for the country's energy transition, which plays an important role in contributing to the search for balance in the face of climate change.

By choosing this path to finance projects, companies committed to environmental issues obtain benefits direct of this type of debt, such as: greater possibility of expanding the investor base through access to institutional investors and funds that focus on sustainable investments.

Other advantages are: improvement of reputation and corporate image as the option for this type of financial operation reinforces the commitment to environmental responsibility; among others.
