The prices of modules, polysilicon and photovoltaic cells on the international market remained stable in the second week of January compared to the first, according to data from the Spot Price bulletin InfoLink Consulting, released this Thursday (11).
The study shows that the prices of the main types of solar panels remained at the same level between the two periods, without significant fluctuations, at a value that continues to be one of the lowest in history.
At this time, monofacial modules with PERC technology are being sold at an average cost of US$ 0,115/W, for both 182 mm and 210 mm sizes. Among bifacials, the price is US$ 0,12/W for both sizes.
Regarding solar panels TOPCon N-Type 182mm bifacial the price sold worldwide is around US$ 0,13/W, while for the models Hjt (heterojunction) the value is US$0,16/W.
According to the bulletin, global module manufacturers have received fewer orders recently and have concentrated their deliveries on large projects, in the so-called centralized generation.

Polysilicon
The polysilicon sector had a lively week, with buyers and sellers actively closing orders at the same price level as last week, at a cost of $0,21/kg.
In the first quarter of 2024, Infolink Consulting expects annual polysilicon capacity to increase by around 98 tons per year. Major manufacturers are expected to account for just 20% of this addition, while other companies (Tier-2 and Tier-3) are expected to contribute the remainder.
Cells
As expected from the study, trading prices for P-Type cells have remained stable over the past few weeks, remaining at an average of US$0,052/W. The same occurred for high-efficiency N-Type cells (above 24,5%), which are being traded on average for US$0,062/W.
Chinese currency
Although the price remained stable in US dollars, there were price fluctuations in Chinese dollars. Type-P cells recorded slight increases (less than 3% in Yuan) while the other items analyzed saw drops of up to 5,5% in local exchange rates.
Such increases and reductions, however, were not enough to cause the dollar value to suffer impacts, given the devaluation of the Yuan in relation to the North American currency.
