The notices for the three Existing Energy Auctions scheduled for this year are open for public consultation until August 4, the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). Interested parties can send contributions by email: cp025_2025@aneel.gov.br. The competitions will be held on November 14th.

The 1 Existing Energy Auctions “A-2”, “A-3” and “A-2025” are intended for the purchase of electricity from existing generation projects. The contracts negotiated will be in the form of quantity of electricity, from any generation source. The supply period will be two years.

The contracts will not have any type of price update, as adopted since the A-1 auction of 2017. The bidding system will be the same: a descending hybrid auction, with an initial bid for quantity and price in a continuous stage.

According to ANEEL, distribution agents must submit their declarations of need from August 12 to 22, 2025, considering that the energy that is not contracted in an auction will not be added to the declarations of need of the subsequent auction.

A ANEEL proposes the following conditions of participation:

  • Be an agent of CCEE;
  • Being the owner of a generation undertaking, from any source, the corresponding generation plant must be in commercial operation on the date of publication of the notice;
  • Hold, on the date of publication of the notice, registration or authorization to generate, import or commercialize electrical energy;
  • Not be prevented from registering new contracts in the Accounting and Settlement System (SCL), under the terms of the Marketing Convention;
  • In the case of electricity suppliers, this must be classified as Type 1, in accordance with the Normative Resolution ANEEL No. 1.011, of March 29, 2022.
