In the early hours of this Wednesday (5), a residence in Poços de Caldas (MG) was the target of a criminal action by two individuals who stole a solar energy system installed on the roof of the property at around 4 am.
Security camera footage recorded the moment when one of the suspects climbed the residence and removed two photovoltaic modules, while his accomplice remained on the ground, helping to remove and transport the stolen material.
After the crime, the suspects quickly fled towards a nearby wooded area, disappearing without leaving any clues.
The Military Police were called and arrived at the scene to begin investigations, but, so far, there is no information about the identity of those responsible for the crime.

Reports previously published by Canal Solar, show that the theft of solar equipment has become a growing problem in Brazil, especially with the increased adoption of the technology.
The ease with which photovoltaic modules can be removed and sold on the black market makes this type of crime a threat to consumers and companies investing in solar energy.
Given this scenario, experts consulted by Canal Solar, like Luca Milani and Mauro Filho, CEOs of 77 Sol e da Electron, respectively, reinforce the importance of protecting photovoltaic systems through specific insurance.
Such solutions offer coverage not only against theft and robbery, but also against other unforeseen events that may compromise the operation and profitability of an investment.
For professionals, the Taking out this type of insurance should not be seen as an additional cost, but rather as essential protection to guarantee the longevity and efficiency of a plant.
