A SIN power load (National Interconnected System) verified in December of 2022 was 68.836 average MW. The indicator represents 2,3% reduction compared to the same month in 2021.
The data are from the Monthly Cargo Bulletin from the ONS (National Electric System Operator). In the last 12 months, the result differed, registering a positive variation of 0,3% in relation to previous data.
The indicators for December 2022, compared to the month in 2021, point to an increase in demand only in the North subsystem, with 4,0% (6.254 average MW).
According to the ONS, the other submarkets showed a decline: Southeast/Central-West, with a slowdown of 3,3% (38.814 average MW), the South, with 0,6% (12.536 average MW) and the Northeast with 3,9% (11.232 average MW).
In the last 12 months, the scenario is the opposite, with only the Northeast subsystem registering a reduction in load: 1,4%. The others showed growth: Southeast/Central-West (0,4%), South (0,2%) and North (3,4%).
According to the Operator, the SIN load can be impacted by different factors. One of the points to consider when analyzing the data is the occurrence of milder temperatures than traditionally expected for the last month of the year, an atypical fact for the period and which may have contributed to the indicated performance.
