O ONS (National Electric System Operator) registered in June a load de 75.697 MWmed in SIN (National Interconnected System). Compared to June from 2023, the increase was 6,1%.

According to Operator, the accumulated result of the last 12 months recorded growth of 7,4% compared to the previous 12 months.

All subsystems also recorded load expansion comparing June this year with the same period last year.

The load expansion in the subsystems was as follows:

  • North: 8,9% (7.732 MWmed);
  • Southeast/Central-West: 6,4% (42.709 MWmed);
  • South: 5,9% (12.900 MWmed);
  • Northeast: 3,5% (12.355 MWmed).

The ONS explains, in a note, that the increase is attributed to several factors, but highlights the meteorological conditions recorded in the subsystem that serves the Southeast/Central-West region, which had maximum temperatures above the historical average and lower than average rainfall, in addition to being the main consumer center in the country.

During the period of last twelve months, the increases in the accumulated figures were: North (10,2%); Southeast/Central-West (7,7%); Northeast (7,4%) and South (4,6%).

The results are contained in Bulletin Monthly Cargo, consolidated document prepared by the ONS.
