The solar energy sector has been increasingly advancing in the search for solutions that combine flexibility, savings, and energy security. Among the highlights is the Fox ESS US series split-phase hybrid inverter, which serves residential and commercial applications not only in Brazil, but also in the United States and throughout Latin America.
With a single-phase split-phase design, the inverter features an AC connection (phase + phase + neutral + ground), allowing it to operate 127 V and 220 V loads on the same system. According to the company, this flexibility is suitable for everything from homes and small businesses to larger projects that require more power.
Because it is hybrid – that is, it combines photovoltaic generation, battery storage, and intelligent use of grid energy – the solution can also be used in apartments, further expanding the application possibilities.
Another difference is the expansion capacity: each US inverter can work with up to 4 high voltage (HV) batteries in parallel, increasing autonomy and storage capacity.
In practice, hybrid mode captures excess energy generated by solar panels during the day to charge batteries while also powering loads. This stored energy can, for example, be used during peak hours when grid tariffs are higher—a strategy known as Time of Use (ToU) or Energy Shifting—helping reduce energy costs.
In the event of a power outage, the customer is protected because the inverter also functions as a backup, ensuring power to priority loads with virtually no interruptions. Switching to battery use takes no more than 20 milliseconds, ensuring continuous power supply, with fluctuations often imperceptible.
Among the technical highlights, the model offers high conversion efficiency, which can reach up to 97,8%, supports 100% oversizing, has an IP65 protection rating for installation in outdoor areas and allows remote monitoring via website, Wi-Fi or FoxCloud 2.0 app – in Portuguese.
