The MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), through the Secretariat for Energy Transition and Planning, approved new incentives for solar and wind energy projects totaling 160 MW of installed capacity in Brazil.

The initiatives, located in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais and São Paulo, were included in the REIDI (Special Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development).

The measure was made official this Friday (13), with the publication of an ordinance in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union). The Reidi guarantees the suspension of the collection of PIS/Pasep and Cofins on goods and services acquired, leased or imported for infrastructure projects, with a validity of up to five years.

Solar projects in Minas Gerais and São Paulo

Among the projects contemplated are two solar plants that received approval to participate in the special regime. In Minas Gerais, Antares Energia Solar is in charge of UFV Xangrilá 1, with a capacity of 30 MW.

The plant will be installed in Várzea da Palma and is scheduled for completion in March 2029. The estimated investment is R$28,6 million, already exempt from federal taxes.

In São Paulo, the 2,5 MW UFV Guararapes was also included in the REIDI. The project, led by the companies Certare and Concremat, is scheduled for delivery in March 2026, with an investment of approximately R$ 6 million.

Wind expansion in Bahia

In addition to the solar plants, five wind projects of chef (São Francisco Hydroelectric Company) were awarded in the municipality of Casa Nova (BA).

Together, the Casa Nova B, D, E, F and G plants have a total capacity of 127,5 MW. According to the approved schedule, the first plant to start operating will be Casa Nova B, with completion estimated for August 2027.

The remaining units are expected to be completed by August 2030. The investment, considering tax benefits, is around R$134 million for the first project and R$110,4 million for each of the other four.
