Taking the liberty of parodying William Shakespeare with “TO BE OR NOT TO BE"That famous reflection has never made more sense in our market than it does now."
The solar sector is undergoing a clear transformation: Energy storage has gone from being a trend to a necessity.And in this scenario, everyone is rushing to BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
But the question that really matters isn't simply whether to adopt or not. It's: are we prepared for it? Today, I see an accelerated movement of installers and distributors seeking storage solutions. However, along with this evolution, some important challenges arise:
- Lack of technical skills;
- Lack of reliable information on the part of those seeking the solution;
- Lack of clear communication between manufacturers, distributors, and integrators.
Furthermore, what we used to see a lot of in advertisements from solar panel and inverter manufacturers has changed; now we realize that everyone produces BESS, whether they are manufacturers of panels, inverters, or even other equipment.
And as I heard at a recent industry event, we're in a Gold Rush, and like in the Wild West, a lot of shots are being fired, and as we can see, it's happening everywhere. And this can directly compromise the quality and effectiveness of the projects..
Many people focus on the price of a system before a complete diagnosis of the client's needs, and we often hear: "The competitor's is cheaper!" without first having accurate information about where it will be applied and what the requirements are for each piece of equipment and manufacturer.
BESS is not just another product in a portfolio or on a shelf in a warehouse. It is a complex solution that requires knowledge, planning, and proper integration. The system requires a lot of engineering and precise calculations.
Without this, the risk of errors increases and the result falls far short of the potential that storage can deliver, consequently leading to a poor experience for the customer and the entire chain involved. Therefore, more than deciding “go to BESSIt is essential to go from correct form.
This is precisely where our role comes in, as industry professionals, and we work diligently to support the market by:
- Technical capacitation
- quality content
- Close communication with distributors and installers.
- And above all, reliable solutions for each application, properly defined.
Our goal is clear: To help the market evolve safely, ensuring more assertive, efficient, and sustainable projects..
Because, in the end, the question isn't just: To BESS or not to BESS…but rather: What will be the right way to BESS? Or what is the correct path to BESS?
It's not simple. But it's a great solution and will be the great future of the sector, if we work in a professional way and focus on results and not just price.
