The Chamber of Deputies' Mines and Energy Committee has postponed its next meeting until November, where a request to summon the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, to discuss the situation of Amazonas Energia will be voted on.

Requested by deputy Silas Câmara (Republicanos-AM), the request was on the agenda of this Wednesday's meeting, which ended without the parliamentarians considering any matter on the agenda.

Silveira is asked in two other requests for information, about municipalities that have oil and natural gas processing units and about the number of licenses for the operation and installation of wind and photovoltaic parks granted by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

In the first, the general director of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), Rodolfo Henrique de Saboia, is also questioned, while the second request also includes the name of the general director of the ANEEL, Sandoval Feitosa.

The last meeting of the Mines and Energy Committee did not reach the minimum quorum for voting, even allowing for the remote system. Therefore, no matter could be considered in the plenary.

There were 30 items on the agenda, including requests and projects. One of them deals with the prioritization of municipalities that generate wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric power plants in the process of universalizing public electricity services in rural areas.

Another grants exemption from import tax for certain solar panels. Details of a public hearing to discuss the ideal energy matrix for Brazil by 2050 would also be discussed.

All these matters will only be analyzed in November, as there is no forecast for new proceedings in the Chamber of Deputies before the second round of municipal elections, scheduled for October 27.

Some parliamentarians are running for mayor, while others are seeking to elect allies to strengthen their reelection plans in 2026.
