DAH Solar's full-screen modules have been increasingly gaining ground in solar energy projects in Brazil. With technology patented in more than 20 countries, these panels are ideal for use on both rooftops and in architecturally integrated photovoltaic systems (BIPV).

The expansion in the Brazilian market is accompanied by a growing network of distributors – who have imported these modules in the last 12 months – such as BelEnergy, Bold Energy, CorSolar, Dynamis Importadora, Esfera Solar, Foco Energia, Força e Luz, Helte, JNG, Jolisolar, Maxsul, Sky Solar, Solmais, Trial and TVin Solar.

This wide availability encourages demand and allows more consumers to adopt a solution that has several advantages, such as its self-cleaning capacity. Thanks to the design without a visible frame on the front, the modules prevent the accumulation of dirt, which reduces both the risk of hot spots and maintenance costs for cleaning.

In addition, the panels have contributed to an increase in energy generation for consumers across the country. In Dourados (MS), for example, a residential customer who installed the system with full-screen panels experienced a 10% increase in energy generation.

According to Germano Caires, engineer and owner of Evo Brasil Energia, the company responsible for the project, this technology has a direct impact on the plant's efficiency. “With no accumulation of dust on the edges after rain, it is clear that the plant has seen an increase in performance,” he highlighted.

Other cases

Fazenda Bom Retiro, located in Pirassununga, in the interior of São Paulo, also used DAH Solar's full-screen technology. In operation since February of this year, the plant, designed by Turin Energia and executed by EPCista Reserva Energia, has 3,3 MW of installed capacity and occupies an area of five hectares.

The photovoltaic project has 5,78 full-screen solar panels and 10 250 kVA inverters, supplied by Port Trade Energy. In total, R$11 million was invested in the project.

According to the companies, the generated credits are discounted from the electricity bills of the 78 tenants of Aces (Association of Sustainable Energy Consumers). As a result, users of the service, most of whom live in condominiums, have already seen a 10% reduction in their energy bills.

Solar Unit: microinverter and full-screen module

Among the manufacturer's standout products is the Solar Unit, a system that integrates a microinverter and full-screen modules. The board was developed with a 3-cut cell, meaning there is a 3x reduction in the operating current of the cell and consequently of the panel.

Having a reduction in current directly implies a relationship with the operating temperature of the equipment, both the micro and the module, causing both to operate at lower temperatures and have lower loss rates throughout the useful life of the system, and this is results in greater energy production. The SolarUnit microinverter has 97,55% maximum efficiency, one of the highest in the MLPE market.

Still on the subject of the SolarUnit microinverter, it is a device with several specific characteristics, such as the design coupled to the module, the operation considering two or three panels in series and also the technology in its semiconductors, where it uses Gallium Nitride, being considered the 3rd generation of semiconductors.

In fact, when compared to conventional photovoltaic modules, the Solar Unit provided an increase in generation of 9,8% per kWp. Hugo Moreira, technical manager at DAH Solar, wrote an article explaining in detail the advantages that this solution provides. Click here And check it out.
