A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) invested approximately R$ 463 thousand in Santa Casa de Araraquara, through the PEE (Energy Efficiency Program). The objective of the investment was to provide the unit with the installation of a photovoltaic solar plant with a capacity of 137 kWp, in addition to replacing 364 common light bulbs with LEDs.

The work was developed by CPFL (Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz) and included the installation of Dinâmica Energia Solar. In total, 264 solar panels from JA Solar and inverters from ABB were installed. The project lasted approximately 12 months.

According to the concessionaire, the hospital's electricity bill could be saved by around R$91,4 per year, saving approximately 202 MWh per year. According to Felipe Henrique Zaia, CPFL's Energy Efficiency Manager, the project aims to achieve environmental sustainability and reduce expenses for new investments by the hospital.

“Philanthropic institutions have difficulty in having their accounts balanced, so this type of project really helps hospitals to reduce their monthly energy bills and with this savings, they can invest in other needs”, explained Zaia.

The CEO of Santa Casa de Araraquara, Rogério Bartkevicius, celebrated the completion of the work and emphasized that the savings generated will be invested in patient health. “Energy sustainability is extremely important for a hospital that has several pieces of equipment for performing exams and even life support, so this action has a special meaning, not only financially, but also sustainably,” Bartkevicius added.

“It is graphic for us at Dinâmica Energia Solar to help people in our society. Santa Casa de Araraquara should reduce its costs, so it will be able to use this savings to purchase new equipment and improve the unit”, highlighted Artur Cantador Bernardo, commercial manager at Dinâmica Energia Solar.

The Energy Efficiency Program is regulated and monitored by ANEEL, since it is an obligation of energy concessionaires. Its main objective is to promote the efficient use of electricity in all sectors of the economy. Concessionaires must apply a minimum percentage of 0,5% of the ROL (Net Operating Revenue) to improvements.
