A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) auctioned, last Friday (17), at B3, in São Paulo, five lots of concessions for the construction and maintenance of 902 km in transmission lines and 750 MVA in transformation capacity of three new substations.
The investment expectation in the tendered projects is R$ 2,9 billion, with creation of 6.606 direct jobs in the states of Amapá, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraná and São Paulo.
All concessions have a term of 30 years and the winning companies were those with the lowest RAP (Permitted Annual Revenue). The event reached an average discount of 50%.
This was the 19th electricity sector auction held in the last three years. During this period, according to the ANEEL, the country achieved a 16% expansion in electricity generation and 17% in transmission, in addition to contracted investments of around R$60 billion in the electricity sector alone.
1 lot
The bid for the first batch, which foresees structural works on 726 km of electrical transmission lines in São Paulo and Paraná, was won by Taesa. The company offered a bid of R$129,9 million – a discount of 47,76% of the reference value.
According to ANEEL, the section will supply the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba and will provide an increase in the electrical interconnection capacity of the South-Southeast regions. The forecast is that around R$ 1,7 billion will be invested and that 3,5 thousand jobs will be created.
2 lot
The second lot was won by Sterlite Brazil Participações SA, with a bid of R$7,09 million, a discount of 66,09%. The tender requires the construction of the Olindina 2 transformation substation, with a capacity of 450 MVA, in Bahia.
The work should be completed within 36 months and promises to expand the transmission system in the northeastern region of Bahia. The estimated total investment is R$152,1 million and 507 jobs should be created.
3 lot
The third lot, which foresees the construction and maintenance of 166 km of transmission lines in Bahia, within 42 months, was won by the Rialma group with an offer of R$ 17,1 million, a discount of 27,8%.
The tender aims to supply electricity to the western region of Bahia. To carry out the work, investments of R$ 170,6 million are estimated and the creation of 487 jobs.
4 lot
The fourth – and penultimate lot – was won by Neoenergia with a bid of R$37,1 million, a discount of 58,6%. The tender envisages the construction of the Estreito substation, in Ibiraci (MG). To achieve this, 1.652 jobs will be created and around R$660,9 million will be invested.
According to ANEEL, the bidding aims to provide greater reliability and operational flexibility in critical scenarios of high energy imports by the Southeast Region, as well as guarantee voltage control in the São Paulo System.
5 lot
The fifth and final lot was won by Energisa, with a RAP bid of R$11,3 million, 48,68% below the reference value. The tender foresees the construction, in 42 months, of 10 km of transmission lines (Macapá – Macapá 3), and the Macapá 3 substation.
According to the Agency, the concession aims to solve electricity supply to the Macapá region and avoid cuts like those recorded in 2020 in the region. R$161,6 million will be invested in the works and the creation of 461 jobs is expected.
