A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) opens registrations next Friday, August 1st, for the 2025 edition of the National Energy Efficiency Olympiad, aimed at students in the 8th and 9th grades of Elementary School, both from public and private schools.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about the responsible use of electricity, promoting topics such as sustainability and the socioeconomic impacts of natural resource consumption. Half a million students are expected to participate in the competition.
Held annually by ANEEL, through the Energy Efficiency Program, the Olympiad is coordinated by the Abradee Institute, linked to Abradee (Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors).
In 2025, RGE, a CPFL Group distributor, will take on the role of proponent, with the support of 48 other electricity distributors across the country. The program includes training activities, interactive game-style challenges, and online exams.
The closing will be marked by a national awards ceremony on November 6 in Brasília (DF), with tributes to the best performing students in each state.
How to participate?
Registration is free and must be completed between August 1st and September 30th on the official Olympics website: www.onee.org.br. In addition to students, teachers can also register and will have access to an exclusive pedagogical training course.
In the first phase, students participate in gamified activities that teach about energy efficiency in a light and fun way. In the second phase, they take an objective test, available on the competition's website and official app.
Awards
The top students will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as laptops for the highest-scoring student in each state. Another highlight of the award is the medalists' automatic spot in the second phase of the 2 National Science Olympiad (ONC), without having to participate in the first phase.
