ANEEL signs transmission contracts that will generate 15 thousand jobs

According to the Agency, the works are expected to generate more than R$7 billion in investments

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) signed, this Monday (05), the concession contracts for 10 lots of transmission lines that were auctioned in December 2020, at B3, in São Paulo (SP).

According to the Agency, companies can now start work on the works, which are expected to generate investments of more than R$7 billion and 15 thousand jobs in nine states: Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do South, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.

Only Lot 1, in Goiás, is under analysis and will be signed later. “The result of this auction shows the confidence of investors in our government, in our country. More than ever, it is time to generate jobs and income for our population. My congratulations to ANEEL for work. Brazil cannot stop,” said Bento Albuquerque, Minister of Mines and Energy.

“In 2020, we held the largest infrastructure auction in the country, even in the midst of the crisis caused by the pandemic. ANEEL promotes regulatory security, already enshrined in reports from the world's two main risk assessment agencies, Standard & Poor's and Moody's, with investors having confidence in the rules and contracts they will sign”, commented André Pepitone, CEO of ANEEL.

The regulatory body also stated that the December auction was the biggest bid of 2020 under the Federal Government's PPI (Investment Partnership Program), with broad competition for all 11 lots offered.
