A Auren Energy, one of the largest generators of renewable energy in the country and energy trader in the Brazilian market, launched a carbon credits e-commerce platform.

The tool offers a simplified solution for individuals, companies and events that wish to make up for its emissions, through renewable energy and forestry projects.

Click here to access the platform.

The initiative is part of a set of company strategies to expand the business, which in 2023 registered the brand 1,66 million carbon credits sold on the global market and generated revenue of more than 25 million reais for the company.

When accessing the platform, the customer will be able to select the type of credit they wish to acquire and also obtain information about the technical characteristics of each project.

The solution integrates enterprises Winds of Araripe III, Winds of Piauí I and Legado Verde do Cerrado, all registered in Will see – global certifier of voluntary carbon offsets.

There is also the option of choosing a single project or a combo that combines the compensation of two types of credits. After purchasing, the customer has the possibility of paying via pix or credit card with an alternative payment option and receives a digital certificate, which certifies that the credits have been compensated.

“We developed a democratic mechanism that makes it possible to purchase carbon credits in the virtual environment in an agile and intuitive way with the aim of simplifying the customer experience”, he states José Guilherme Amato, Carbon Business Manager at Auren Energia.

“The platform sells carbon projects that are owned by Auren and meet a high standard of quality and governance. As a difference, we created a transparency process to ensure that our customers have access to complete and detailed information regarding technical factors, public sources and the social and environmental co-benefits of these projects for a safe and certified purchase”, he adds.

The creation of the platform is part of the company's strategy to expand its global operations, encouraging the entry of new customers into the market with investment in technology and innovation.

Since 2019, the company has developed a relevant performance and has sold 4,6 million carbon credits in the last five years. Currently, more than 100 companies offset their emissions using the company's credits and the goal is that around 2030 million credits will be sold by 8.
