CCEE (Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber), in partnership with ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) made available, last Friday (6), the new system of Energy Auctions.
The tool brings innovations in the pre- and post-contest stages, with improvements in automation, security and communication between the agency, agents and other institutions involved.
Among the main changes is the end of the need to present documents and provide financial guarantees in person. Now, the entire process is carried out directly on the platform, in the Registration module.
Regarding post-auction activities, CCEE highlighted that sellers now insert documents directly into the Qualification module, without the need to send physical documentation. Furthermore, all status monitoring and adjustments will be carried out by the tool.
Another novelty highlighted is in the Management of Financial Guarantees, where it is possible to manage all proposal and faithful compliance guarantees. The participant can follow all stages of this activity, from the contribution to the partial and full release of the respective guarantees.
“We systematized the activities that were previously manual, today the participant no longer needs to appear in person at CCEE, this entire process has been automated”, said Luciana Lisboa, executive manager of Auctions and Regulated Market at CCEE.
“Dozens of integrations were built, eliminating many manual activities and making the registration process much safer. Furthermore, interactions with the system are simple, friendly and rich in information, which will make users' work much easier”, highlighted Dario Almeida, executive manager of Systems Architecture at CCEE.
Almeida also highlighted that the implementation of the auction system is a historic milestone for the auction management process in the Brazilian market. “It provides a broad, robust and modern digital platform that places the management of regulated auctions in Brazil at a level of global excellence”, he concluded.
According to ANEEL, the new system will already be used in the A-1 Energy Auction, scheduled for December 4th. In the event, contracts will be negotiated for the quantity of electricity, from any source, for two years of supply (between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2022). The initial price of the auction will be R$160 MWh.
