Canadian Solar announced the expansion of its portfolio in Brazil with the launch of a hybrid solution consisting of an inverter and low voltage (LV) battery.

Available in power ranges from 5 kW to 7,5 kW, the new system will be officially presented at Intersolar South America 2025 and represents a milestone in the company's strategy aimed at the end consumer in the residential segment.

Since 2021, the company has been manufacturing inverters in-house, developed with exclusive technology and local technical support. "Our goal is to make access to solar energy safer, smarter, and more affordable," said Thiago Chinen, Product Manager at Canadian.

According to the company, the new line of inverters is already fully compatible with the rapid shutdown devices (RSD) sold by the company, which allow the system to be shut down in emergency situations – meeting the requirements of the Fire Department and anticipating standards that are evolving in the Brazilian photovoltaic sector.

Grid Zero solutions and integration with digital credit

In response to the connection difficulties faced by consumers with distributors, the company emphasized that it is strengthening its portfolio with equipment aimed at Grid Zero systems, which allow local generation and consumption without injection into the electricity grid.

Furthermore, they highlighted that they invest in integrations with digital financing platforms, enabling credit simulation and approval directly from the sales platform.

Expansion in energy storage

The new hybrid solution is part of Canadian Solar's strategy to operate in the energy storage sector, with systems that combine hybrid inverters and high-performance batteries.

According to the company, the investment follows the growing demand for energy autonomy in Brazil and reinforces the brand's commitment to cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions.
