The city of Fortaleza (CE) is preparing to host the Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste, which will take place on April 23 and 24, at the Ceará Events Center. In its fifth edition, the Summit has established itself in the region's calendar, attracting 100 exhibiting companies in a space of 7.500 m² and expecting more than 5.000 visitors.

Organized by Aranda Eventos & Congressos, in collaboration with Solar Promotion International GmbH from Germany, the event will bring to the fore strategic discussions for the future of renewables.

According to data from the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), Ceará became the largest producer of solar energy in the Northeast in 2024. The state was responsible for 21,5% of all installed power in the region in the year and reached ninth place in this ranking in Brazil.

Furthermore, the region is expected to attract investments in the order of R$168,9 billion for the construction of green hydrogen projects by 2031, according to a study conducted by the North American consultancy IXL Center, hired by the Government of Ceará and the Federation of Industry of Ceará.

Over the course of two days, professionals in the photovoltaic market will have the opportunity to network, discover the latest trends and innovations in solar technology and establish connections with leading companies in the segment.

“The energy transition has become a global agenda. In this sense, the world looks to Brazil and sees the Northeast as one of the most important regions in this task,” said Florian Wessendorf, managing director of Solar Promotion International GmbH.

“In this way, the Intersolar Summit Nordeste aims to bring together the main names in the photovoltaic energy sector and related areas, such as green hydrogen, the carbon market and electromobility, in order to discuss trends, make contacts and think about the next steps for these markets”, he highlighted.

Eduardo Rêgo Cavalcanti, Director of Operations & Maintenance at Voltalia, will participate in the panel “Perspectives on the electrical system and transmission challenges for large loads”, which will discuss the impact of intermittent sources on the operation of the electrical system and the challenges for connecting green hydrogen plants to the transmission grids in the Northeast.

“We believe in the potential of the region, which has abundant natural resources, and in Brazil’s strategic role in offering energy at competitive costs,” reinforced Rêgo.

Congress

The Intersolar Summit will feature over 30 renowned speakers and industry experts. In total, around 500 delegates are expected to attend, addressing the challenges and opportunities of decentralized solar generation, microgrids, distributed generation and energy storage, for example.

The Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste also features mini-courses lasting two hours each so that professionals can expand their training.
