ISA ENERGIA BRASIL has completed the renovation of the 138 kV transmission line between Araras, Baldin, and Porto Ferreira, São Paulo state. The investment of approximately R$100 million nearly tripled the power transmission capacity and strengthened the supply to four municipalities with approximately 355 inhabitants.
The modernization is strategic for the Araras ceramics hub and also expands the flow of biomass-generated energy in the region. According to the company, the new infrastructure allows it to operate with up to 2,6 times more power than the previous one.
“With the delivery, the electrical system in the interior of São Paulo is better prepared for the energy demands of the present and future,” says Dayron Urrego, Executive Director of Projects at ISA ENERGIA BRAZIL.

Investment in the interior of São Paulo
The project involved rehabilitating 56,7 kilometers of transmission lines, renovating 46 towers, and replacing conventional lightning rods with special cables (Optical Ground Wire). The initiative also included improvements to the Porto Ferreira Substation, eliminating the need for vegetation removal.
The project created approximately 170 jobs and enabled the receipt of an estimated R$8,8 million in Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP). The project is part of the company's modernization plan, which foresees investments of R$5,5 billion in reinforcements and improvements by 2029, with support from BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).
