With a minimum quorum of three of its five directors, the 30th public meeting of the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) lasted a quick ten minutes. It was enough time for the approval of four annual tariff adjustments, voted on as a block, in addition to two withdrawals from the agenda and one request for review.

One of the processes that were removed from the agenda was the request for approval of the notice for Transmission Auction No. 2/2024, for the contracting of a public electricity transmission service. Director Fernando Monsa, the rapporteur for the process, claimed that it was not possible to prepare a technical note in a timely manner.

But it recorded the recent statement by the TCU (Federal Court of Auditors), which concluded that the ANEEL met the requirements set out in the normative instruction, thus maintaining the auction for September 27, at the B3 headquarters, in São Paulo.

Divided into four lots, the auction is expected to generate investments of R$3,76 billion and generate more than eight thousand direct jobs in these projects. The process foresees the construction and maintenance of 850 kilometers and 1.600 MVA in transformation capacity.

Most of these interventions will be concentrated in the first lot, which covers the states of Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Santa Catarina. In addition to these, the remaining lots will include Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.

Readjustments

Aneel's board of directors approved four annual tariff adjustments. The largest was 3,02% for consumers of Celesc-Dis, an electricity distribution concessionaire based in Florianópolis (SC), which serves approximately 3,38 million consumers and has an annual revenue of R$12,43 billion.

Two had a negative adjustment: Mux Energia, located in Tapejara, in Rio Grande do Sul, had a 1,61% reduction, while Equatorial MA, in São Luís, in Maranhão, will reduce by 1,22%.
