O Maranhao will receive from Federal government near $ 93,9 billion for carrying out investments in works of New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program).
Of this amount, $ 18 billion destined for the implementation of 1.512 kilometers of transmission lines e R$153 million to promote the program Light for All, which seeks to bring access to electricity to remote communities.
The remainder of the amount will be used in the state for works under the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program; the duplication of BR-010 (the highway that connects the cities of Imperatriz and Açailândia) and 201 4G telephone towers. 11 works are also planned to restore historical heritage in São Luís (MA).
O anúncio of the value and distribution of resources was accomplished, this Monday (06), by the Chief Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, during the program's launch ceremony, in the state capital.
Power lines
In addition to revealing the investments planned for Maranhão, the Chief Minister of the Civil House also said that Brazil plans to carry out large lines [power transmission] to turn on the power generated by the regions North and Northeast with the Southeast.
“Together, these investments represent more than BRL 50 billion and are able to attract more than R$150 billion in investments in wind and solar power plants and water projects, which will become economically viable with the arrival of transmission lines”, said Rui Costa.
