Minas Gerais will train municipal managers on photovoltaic energy

Initiative aims to help municipalities improve their business environments and attract companies

The Secretary of Economic Development of the State of Minas Gerais will hold the second free training session for municipal managers of the strategic project Sol de Minas, on June 20 and 21. One of the specific objectives of the project is to train municipal managers from Minas Gerais in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, with the aim of helping municipalities improve their business environments and attract companies interested in using solar energy.

The event will be an opportunity for professionals in the field to exchange experiences about the photovoltaic sector, as the training will feature lectures from organizations that are references in the subject, such as ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), FEAM (State Environmental Foundation) and INDI (Minas Gerais Investment and Foreign Trade Promotion Agency).

The event will also feature lectures from Banco do Nordeste and the Development Bank of Minas Gerais (BDMG) on financing. Between presentations, a space will be available for doubts and questions. The event is open for registration and those interested in the public administration of the municipalities have until June 17th to confirm their participation in this event. link.

According to data from Aneel, the state of Minas Gerais currently accounts for 18% of all Brazilian photovoltaic solar energy generated in the DG (distributed generation) modality. Currently, 843 of its 853 municipalities (98,82%) have solar modules in operation. Furthermore, considering Centralized Generation (GC) and Distributed Generation (GD) operating projects, the state of Minas is the leader in the country, with around 1.530 MW of installed power.
