O Brazil surpassed recently the brand 24 GW of installed solar energy power in the segment of distributed micro and minigeneration, with more than 2,15 million systems installed in all locations across the country.

This is one volume twice as large than the 14 GW that there were in October last year, when solar DG totaled only 1,3 million installations, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

To Nuno Verças, CEO of Descarbonize, owner of the brands Aldo Solar e Sun Now, the numbers only reveal that, despite some adversities faced by the sector in the first half of the year, the potential of photovoltaic distributed generation will continue in full growth in Brazil.

For him, the outlook for the market continues to be good, with a recovery that is already proving true in numbers. “At Aldo, sales volume has improved substantially, almost 60% more than April, which was our worst month in 2023”, he compared.

The sales volume and the improvement in the sector bring opportunities and Descarbonize plans to expand its sales teams. “We will reinforce, above all, the commercial areas of Aldo Solar and Sol Agora. At Aldo, we will bring in more specialized professionals to sell more complex projects, such as plants and carports. At Sol Agora, we are going to increase the team in order to deliver a more personalized service to integrators and distributors”, he explains.

O optimistic scenario quoted by him takes into account o fact that the national market is already more adapted to the rules of Law 14.300 and also that national legislation presents significant advantages in relation to the laws of countries where solar energy continues to be on the rise.

“In Brazil, only 2% of homes have photovoltaic solar energy. In the vast majority of European countries, this rate is much higher and, even so, solar DG remains extremely competitive. In Australia, more than 26% of homes already have systems, for example”, he highlighted.

“In other words, if in the last three years we have had great growth in the source and even so we only have 2% of houses with solar, imagine how much space we still don't have to grow”, highlighted Verças.

Decarbonize

Knowing the potential that the Brazilian distributed generation market has ahead of it, the Decarbonize, a company in the private equity portfolio of Brookfield Asset Management, and owner of the Aldo Solar and Sol Agora brands.

The company, which defines itself as a energytech, will develop a complete ecosystem of brands and solutions complementary to those already offered by the equipment distributor and the financing company, to serve and serve the Brazilian DG market.

Among the solutions and brands that are in pipeline of the company, there are solutions with focus in: software, project monitoring, technical support, regulatory assistance, Big Data services and even education, in order to assist integrators and end customers with technical, sales and financial issues.

During Intersolar South America, which took place in August, Descarbonize announced LADO, focused on technical and after-sales assistance.

“Decarbonize offers as a major differentiator an ecosystem that can provide all customer service, recommend the best products and integrators, in addition to offering financing solutions and guaranteeing technical support with Brookfield quality,” explained Verças.

Congratulations Aldo Group. Next year, I will complete some projects in other sectors in the national market. I want to be together with Aldo…If the team is interested, I have a great farm in the interior of Macae-RJ. Lots of sun!!. We can form a partnership to create a Solar Plant to serve all of BRAZIL.

From my point of view, from everything that was said, see UpSeling opportunities only with #decarbonize…. however, the GD market in general is plummeting with the new regulation, integrators closing, financing lines with high interest rates and the worst thing that is not talked about in the matter is the inversion of flow… “…excuse me…” from the energy companies blocking the growth of GD in Brazil… there is an operator blocking 2 KWp projects… MINI projects are asking for fortunes to make the connection viable…

the market is not aligned with the new law… it is only benefiting energy companies.

In my point of view GD will not have a life span of more than 2 years.
