YOU.ON Energia has announced that its CFI code, related to the BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) Accreditation System, has been published on the institution's portal for its battery energy storage system.

With this accreditation, the company affirms that it meets the nationalization requirements to participate in the LRCAP 2026 (Capacity Reserve Auction in the form of Power), in the modality intended for projects with national content.

In September of this year, YOU.ON signed an exclusivity agreement with the Chinese company HyperStrong, a manufacturer of energy storage systems, for joint participation in the bidding process.

HyperStrong and YOU.ON sign agreement for battery auctions in Brazil.

Accreditation meets national content criteria.

The CFI System is used by BNDES to register and verify compliance with accreditation and local content criteria applicable to equipment.

To participate in the auction for storage systems with national content, interested suppliers must submit the documentation required by the bank.

According to YOU.ON, publishing the code allows the company to advance negotiations with investors and partners interested in participating in the bidding process. The company reported that it has already begun a round of pre-agreements to structure projects and partnerships before the auction.

“The publication of our CFI code on the BNDES portal is the materialization of rigorous technical work. This is not an intention or a projection: it is an official, verifiable accreditation that proves that our system meets all the nationalization criteria required for LRCAP 2026 A – local content,” said Giorgio de Saint Seigne, partner and CPO of YOU.ON Energia.

According to the executive, with the accreditation, the company started the pre-agreement round in a leading position. "This is what we want to offer investors who want to participate, safely, in the first auction of batteries with local content in Brazil," the executive emphasized.

What will battery auctions look like in 2026?

The 2026 LRCAP (Capacity Reserve Auction in the form of Power) was structured to contract power availability for the Brazilian electrical system, including battery energy storage systems.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) divided the contracting process into two separate bidding processes, each with distinct rules for project participation:

  • LRCAP 2026 – National Storage: Scheduled for December 2, 2026, it will be intended for battery storage systems that meet the minimum nationalization requirements, according to BNDES accreditation criteria.
  • LRCAP 2026 – Storage: Scheduled for December 4, 2026, it will be open to battery storage projects without the specific national content requirement applicable to the first tender.

The two auctions will negotiate CRCAPs (Capacity Reserve Contracts for Power), through which the contracted projects will receive remuneration for the availability of power, according to the conditions established in the contracts.

The contracting aims to expand the resources available to meet the needs of the electrical system, especially during periods of higher power demand. The tenders also represent a new market for companies that develop, supply, and integrate battery storage systems in Brazil.
