The CNPE (National Energy Policy Council) approved the creation of the Paten (Energy Transition Acceleration Program) Technical Committee.

The group will be responsible for regulating, executing and supervising the application of Patent Law No. 15.103/2025, with a focus on the analysis and approval of projects.

Paten is a financing program with subsidized interest rates aimed at projects that drive the energy transition in Brazil.

The initiative foresees the mobilization of R$600 billion in investments to promote the decarbonization of the economy, expand the use of renewable energy and encourage energy efficiency.

The program also establishes the creation of the Green Fund, which will be administered by BNDES and will provide guarantees for the financing of projects, using credit rights, court orders and tax credits with the Union.

A law establishing the creation of the Patent (Energy Transition Acceleration Program) was sanctioned, with vetoes, by the Federal Government and published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union) this Thursday (23).
