Comil, one of the main bus manufacturers in Brazil, developed, in partnership with the manufacturer BYD, its first 100% electric vehicle to operate on short and medium distance and charter bus lines.

The Campione Invictus 1200 body was produced by the company on the BYD D9F 4×2 chassis and is already approved and available for sale in the domestic (national) and foreign (international) market.

According to BYD, the 12-meter vehicle was chosen because it generates the best results and meets the needs of the road customer, bringing in its configuration, in addition to comfort, technology and safety.

Also according to the Chinese manufacturer, the project was designed to make the best possible use of the spaces available between the chassis and body. Furthermore, another important feature is the battery maintenance doors, which are individualized from the others.

In terms of technology, the BYD chassis features batteries that can have a range of 300 km, in addition to 402 HP of power and two electric motors integrated into the rear axle wheels. In its internal configuration, there are audio and video systems, USB connectors and a reserved seat with an elevator for accessibility.

“With this autonomy, it is possible for operators to travel short and medium distances with great performance and operating savings. This is an excellent opportunity for the charter market and transfers between airports and cities”, said Marcello Schneider, director of BYD's bus division.

“The concern was in the details of the project, creating a differentiated and customized body for this chassis model, thinking about the best use of the structural layout and seeking to meet the needs of the road customer”, added Tiago Zanette, commercial manager at Comil Ônibus.
