Currently, Brazil has more than 73 GW de capacity installed nose solar fountains e wind, being two of the fastest growing sources in the country. For Octavio Brasil, manager of CAS Tecnologia, the use of intelligent networks, or smart grids can facilitate the integration of these sources in electrical network.

He highlights that, in the case of a management consumption and demand instantaneous, smart networks make it possible to manage more efficient so much that measurement how much of energy offer, allowed quick adjustments and improving the proper planning. These factors are important in systems with intermittent energies, as are solar and wind.

“The implementation of smart grids, together with the growth of renewable energy sources, represents a significant milestone in the evolution of electrical system. To integrate advanced technologies monitoring, control and automation, smart grids empower and provide confidence, including entrepreneurs in the sector, in favor of a gradual and consistent transition to a more sustainable and clean energy matrix”, he states.

“A combination deSSaS T, present in stages that complement each other in the electrical process, allow an intelligent and adaptive management energy supply and demand, maximizing the potential of renewable sources, such as solar, wind and hydroelectric energy, while guarantee a stability and reliability of the supply of the electrical grid”, he added.

Benefits of smart grids

The manager of CAS Tecnologia states that the implementation of smart grids can improve a reliability and resilience of the electrical network, reducing the risk of failures e interruptions in energy supply. Furthermore, the implementation of these smart grids generates a reducing our operating costs.

“The automation and optimization provided by smart grids can generate a reduction in operational costs for energy utilities, which can eventually bring benefits to consumers. It is important to emphasize that, with detailed information on this consumption, for energy suppliers and consumers, the population can make more conscious decisions about energy use, which can lead to a reduction in global consumption and greater energy efficiency”, complements.

Regarding the integration of emerging technologies, Brazil explains that smart grids They can serve as a platform for the integration of new technologies, such as the evolution of energy storage systems and electric vehicles, making the electrical grid more adaptable and future-proof.

“By creating a flexible and interconnected infrastructure, smart grids not only facilitate the integration of these innovative technologies, but also catalyze the development of an intelligent and adaptable energy ecosystem, capable of meeting constantly evolving demands”, he concludes.
