Solar market on the rise
In 2024, distributed solar generation grew almost 20% in terms of added power this year, jumping from 26 GW at the end of 2023 to the current 31 GW in August, according to official data updated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
Between January and August, Brazil gained more than 460 solar installations on rooftops and small plots of land, reaching a cumulative total of more than 2,8 million connections spread across the country.
According to the analysis of Glauco Santos, director of Elgin Solar, the advancement of photovoltaic projects in Brazil reflects consumers' search for sustainable alternatives to reduce expenses in the family budget and increase the competitiveness of the productive sectors.
