This week, ENGIE Brasil held the presentation of the final projects and the graduation of the 2024 Trainee Program class, with vacancies for women for technical and behavioral development to strengthen the female presence in the company.
According to ENGIE, the initiative contributes to its global goal of reaching at least 40% of women in management positions by 2030 and seeks to attract and retain female talent in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers, traditionally occupied by men.
The edition involved companies from the Group ENGIE, such as TAG (Transportadora Associada de Gás) and Jirau Energia, and had around 3,1 registrations. In total, 22 professionals completed the program.
The project aims to offer training through individualized actions, technical visits and behavioral development in groups and through mentoring over 12 months. In addition, participants develop projects applicable to the energy sector, which are presented to an evaluation panel composed of company managers.
For Luciana Nabarrete, Director of People, Processes and Sustainability, “graduation represents a concrete step forward in the inclusion of women in the sector. The female engineers graduating today are proof that talent and competence have no gender. They will arrive prepared to influence, innovate and contribute to a sector in constant transformation,” she says.
In 2016, women represented only 17% of the general workforce and occupied 13% of leadership positions. By 2024, these numbers rose to 32% and 28%, respectively. In addition to growth in the administrative sectors, the areas of Implementation, Operation and Maintenance were also taken over by women.
