A Fox ESS launched a BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) de 100 kW / 215 kWh, aimed at meeting the needs of high voltage UCs (consumer units).

The product, called G-MAX, is designed to be connected to the 380 Vac three-phase network (alternating current) and is composed of four water-cooled batteries. Additionally, it includes an integrated BMS (Battery Management System); weighs 2.500 kg; has a 10-year warranty; and is equipped with an internal fire detection system.

“An important feature is its ability to communicate with an external EMS (Energy Management System) through Modbus or TCP/IP”, highlighted the company.

in mode on-grid it's possible connect up to 10 units in parallel, while in the mode off-grid are permitted until five units, providing flexibility to meet the specific needs of each application.

Features

The G-MAX solution offers three main functionalities: peak demand reduction, load balancing and emergency backup. In the peak demand reduction function, the battery system is charged during off-peak periods, when energy is cheaper.

During peak periods, when electricity is most expensive, it releases stored energy, helping to manage costs and avoiding penalties for excessive peak hour (HP) consumption.

“This is essential for Group A consumers, whose pricing is based both on energy consumption during peak and off-peak hours, and on contracted power demand, which has higher rates during peak hours,” explained the company .

Backup

According to Fox ESS, BESS plays a key role in stabilizing energy use by storing electricity during periods of low demand and releasing it when needed. “In situations of power outages, the system can provide an essential backup to keep critical operations running uninterruptedly.”

In addition to off-grid backup solutions, BESS is capable of supporting a variety of hybrid solutions for commercial, industrial and agricultural use. “This includes substantial savings through surplus energy storage, improved energy autonomy and operational stability through the application of concepts such as Time Shift, leveraging clipping and other advanced energy management strategies”, they highlighted. .

About Fox ESS

The Tsingshan Group, a company with an annual turnover of US$55 billion, is one of the prominent shareholders of Fox ESS – a unicorn valued at US$1,38 billion on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Within this conglomerate, REPT BATTERO stands out, classified as the third largest global supplier of lithium batteries in 2023, according to the Infolink ranking.

Together, Fox ESS and REPT BATTERO have a production capacity of 120 GWh per year of batteries and cells. “This feat is complemented by our robust inverter production capacity, currently reaching 10 GW per year and projected to double by the end of 2024, reaching 20 GW. Furthermore, the total planned manufacturing capacity is set to reach 60 GW annually”, they concluded.
