Intelbras announced the launch of the new IONS 7,5K M7 AFCI inverter, designed for larger residential photovoltaic systems and small businesses. The single-phase model arrives on the market with features such as protection against electric arc (AFCI), IP65 protection level, and a flame-retardant enclosure with C5 rating, features that reinforce the brand's commitment to safety, durability and practicality in installation.

To better understand the equipment's differentials and how it is positioned in the market, Canal Solar spoke with Guilherme Coelho, product and business manager (on grid) at Intelbras. He talked about the applications of the new model, benefits for integrators and consumers, and how the company is preparing to keep up with the expansion of the solar sector in Brazil.

What are the main features and specifications of the IONS 7,5K inverter?

The Intelbras IONS 7,5K M7 AFCI inverter is a single-phase device with 2 MPPTs, ideal for larger residential projects and small businesses. Designed for the national market, this product can be approved by energy concessionaires, in fast track modality, dispensing with the flow inversion analysis.

He counts on the AFCI technology, which provides protection against electric arc, and IP65 rating, which guarantees resistance to water and dust. Light and compact, the model also stands out for its ease of installation and high-performance coolers, which increase its efficiency and useful life.

What types of photovoltaic systems are best suited to using the IONS 7,5K inverter?

The IONS 7,5K M7 AFCI is ideal for residential photovoltaic systems with high energy consumption, such as homes with multiple electrical equipment or large appliances, in addition to efficiently serving small businesses that require greater generation. It is a solution that balances power, safety and practicality, both for the integrator and the end consumer.

What are the differences between the Intelbras IONS 7,5K inverter in terms of durability and resistance compared to other models?

In addition to IP65 protection, the IONS 7,5K M7 AFCI features a C5-rated flame retardant and corrosion-resistant enclosure, offering superior resistance to harsh environments and contributing to greater durability. This makes it especially suitable for installations in regions with high salinity or intense exposure to inclement weather. Its high-performance coolers also help maintain the system's thermal stability.

What are the main benefits of the Intelbras IONS 7,5K inverter for installers and end users?

For installers, the IONS 7,5K M7 offers easy installation and allows approval by energy concessionaires, in Fast Track mode, eliminating the need for analysis of flow reversal, thus speeding up project approval. For the end user, the main benefits are the safety provided by the AFCI, the durability of the inverter, national after-sales service guaranteed by Intelbras, in addition to quality energy generation.

How is Intelbras following global solar energy trends and implementing innovations in its products, such as the IONS 7,5K inverter?

Intelbras is always aware of innovations in the solar market and invests in technologies that increase the safety and efficiency of systems. The launch of the IONS 7,5K M7 with AFCI technology and enabling fast track approval is a reflection of this, meeting market demands for faster processes, greater protection for installations and compact, practical and robust solutions.

What is Intelbras' vision for the growth of solar energy in Brazil over the next 5 to 10 years? How is the company preparing for this expansion?

Intelbras believes in the continued growth and consolidation of solar energy in Brazil, driven by the search for energy independence, savings on electricity bills and sustainability. To keep up with this expansion, the company is constantly expanding its product portfolio, strengthening its national presence and investing in cutting-edge technologies, such as the IONS line of inverters. The goal is to offer complete, safe and affordable solutions for all consumer profiles.

These Intelbrás converters are manufactured by SUNGROW.
Another thing, we do not see any positioning from these companies in compliance with Standard NBR17193, which limits voltages on roofs to 120 volts.
    why do they avoid this???

  • Rodrigo

And does it meet the requirements of NRB 17193 alone? Or do you have to buy the module level RSD? Does Intelbras sell it?
