Photovoltaic module manufacturer JA Solar was recognized for the sixth time as “Top Performer” by the PVEL solar panel performance and reliability testing laboratory (PV Evolution Labs). The achievement was recognized in the seventh edition of PVEL's module reliability ranking.

According to the manufacturer, the achievement results from investments recently made in R&D (Research and Development) by the company, demonstrated in more than 700 patents obtained by the company, including Perc technology and also doping of wafers with Galium instead of Boron, resulting in less degradation.

“Our products are widely recognized by global customers for their quality, reliability and long-term power generation. We are very proud to be awarded for the 6th time with the “Top Performer” award from the PVEL Scorecard 2021 reliability laboratory after several tests over a period of 18 months”, said Fernando Castro, country manager at JA Solar in Brazil.

According to the executive, this assessment serves as a guide for solar project developers, financiers, asset owners and operators when choosing low-cost, high-performance solar modules. PVEL lists panel reliability test results in strict standards.

The list is a detailed summary of the 18-month test results and includes the Product Qualification Program, which includes testing and analysis on thermal cycling (TC600), moist heat (DH2000), potential-induced degradation (PID192), light-induced degradation (LID), Elevated and Light Temperature Induced Degradation (LeTID), among others.

According to the laboratory, product qualification tests are the most rigorous in terms of conditions and sequences than most standard tests and the results obtained are more detailed and significant for practical panel application scenarios.

According to Castro, JA Solar’s DeepBlue 3.0 (+535W) modules, which were launched, received the “Energy Yield Stimulation AQM Award 2020 – Monofacial Mono Group” from TÜV Rheiland due to their high performance, quality and energy production. “These awards crown our effort in the pursuit of the highest quality, and we hope they convey confidence to our customers in the various segments served by the company”, concludes the country manager.
