The MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) expects to make 400 new electricity connections through the Luz para Todos program by 2028, more than half of them in the Legal Amazon.
Over the past two years, the initiative has already benefited around 500 Brazilians in remote regions of the country, through the installation of 145 new connections.
The balance sheet was presented this Tuesday (19) by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, during the event “Light for All: investment balance 2023-2025 and first year of management of ENBPar”.
According to the minister, in the same period, 10 new contracts were signed, providing for the service of 22 new consumer units, with investments of R$735 million.
The projects will cover communities located in Acre, Maranhão, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, and Tocantins. R$2025 billion in investments are already planned for 3 new connections by 80.

Created in 2003 and relaunched in 2023 after a period of discontinuity, Luz para Todos aims to universalize access to electricity in Brazil, prioritizing isolated and hard-to-reach communities.
Currently, according to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the main technology used is the installation of photovoltaic systems. Since its inception, the program has brought electricity to 3,7 million families—approximately 17,7 million people—with investments totaling R$27 billion.
