O MTR Group achieved 40% of its target year 2 GW sold in the first four months of 2024. In total, there were 800 MW – 600 MW from solar tracker and 200 MW from fixed structures.

The company also received the ISO 9001 certification for your factory of equipment for solar plants located in Judge of Fora (MG). The company is investing R $ million 30 for the purchase of land next to the city hall and will invest more than R$20 million to acquire products and set up the entire infrastructure to operate the new venture, which foresees the hiring of 400 new employees.

According to the company, the factory will be focused on structures, automation and skid for ground plants and a manufacturing and stock complex focused on the solar energy market will also be created.

“The investments to expand our operations in the photovoltaic sector with the expansion of our factory in Juiz de Fora value the company as a whole. We have a solid presence in this segment and the expansion of the factory will allow us to meet the growing demand for sustainable energy generation solutions,” he said. Adriano Nascimento, director of MTR-ARCOL, Structures division of the MTR Group.

Yes, Thiago Rios, Co-CEO of MTR Group, highlighted sales growth and market expansion in 2024. “Last year the company surpassed the 1,5 GW mark in solar equipment sold, a growth of 45% compared to the same period of the previous year (Jan-Dec )”.

“For this year 2024 we expected growth of 30% and We were already surprised by a growth of 37% (Jan-Apr) in the sale of equipment and structures for DG soil plants”, he highlighted.

The solar tracker is produced by MTR-Arcol, which is also dedicated to the manufacture of fixed structures used in soil plants. In 2023, they reached an annual record, with a volume of 1.200 MWp in trackers and 450 MWp in commercialized and contracted fixed structures.

At the MTR-iTCE VOLTS factory, electrocenters and skids for photovoltaic plants are manufactured. The MTR Volts electrocenter is a customized “plug & play” solution, which can be transported and delivered to different regions of the country through CTBotelho, a logistics company of the MTR group.

MTR-iTCE Electrocenters are manufactured in 20 or 40 foot first-time containers – which reduces the cost of the plant as it does not require masonry construction. “Between sales and new orders, we have already exceeded 500 pieces of equipment, a significant increase compared to last year”, emphasized Maurício Barros, CEO of MTR.

AI remote management for power plants

One of the new features that MTR brought this year is the “Management and Monitoring Platform” for photovoltaic plants, developed by TECSCI, MTR’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) division also located in Juiz de Fora, focused on automation.

The objective of the new system is to increase energy generation, through the application of AI, identifying faults in the shortest possible time and pointing out the necessary corrective action to the O&M team, thereby increasing the plant's availability time.

The plant monitoring and management system encompasses all equipment that has communication support via MODBUS TCP/IP, collecting information, analyzing history, predicting future data and alerting equipment failures in real time, reducing plant downtime.

The new Monitoring Platform went into operation in November at the Avelar 1 and 2 Plant, owned by the company BRS, in Rio de Janeiro, which is already achieving operational savings of at least 10% per month across the entire plant.
