The São Paulo section of OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) inaugurated the first of its 15 micro solar power plants which will serve to supply the most of 500 units of the association across the state.

Installed at the entity's holiday camp in Três Fronteiras, a city close to the border with Mato Grosso do Sul, the unit will have an average generation of 14.740 kWh per month, which will provide a reduction of 95 tons in annual CO2 emissions.

In total, OAB SP estimates that the installation of new micro plants will reduce the agency's expenditure on electricity by 80%. In 2022 alone, the entity spent R$3,2 million paying electricity bills at its units.

The project envisages hiring just one company to implement the 15 plants in each of the areas of the five concessionaires operating in São Paulo. In total, the Três Fronteiras plant will cover 40% of the consumption of the units installed in Elektro's concession area.

By the middle of the year, notices will be launched to choose the companies that will develop and install the plants in the CPFL, EDP, Enel and Energisa areas. O target is that all energy transition process be completed by the end of 2024.

The estimate of investment from OAB SP, carried out with its own resources, is R $ million 12. O payback (return time for contributions made) must occur in up to five years, according to the entity.
