The Ministry reports that, following the cyclone, 99% of consumer units in the state have had their service restored.

The complete restoration of the electrical grid in Paraná should occur by November 18th, according to information released by the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy).

On Tuesday (11), the Ministry reported that 99% of consumer units have been restored after the passage of an extratropical cyclone between Friday night (7) and Saturday morning (8).

The phenomenon, which was accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain, caused significant damage to the power grid, leaving approximately 290 consumer units without power in 18 municipalities.

According to the Ministry, the municipality of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu remains the most affected, with almost 90% of homes and businesses still without electricity, according to records from local distributors.

Despite damage to sections of the transmission network, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) emphasized that there was no interruption in supply. According to the Ministry, the most severe damage was concentrated in the distribution network.

"The Ministry of Mines and Energy remains in constant contact with the concessionaires to ensure operational safety and the full restoration of electricity supply in the state," it informed.

Timeline for restoring transmission lines

According to MMEThe work to repair the transmission lines in Paraná is proceeding according to schedule.

Eletrosul (Axia):

  • LT 525 kV Ivaiporã/Londrina C-1: One tower was damaged and is expected to be back online on November 12th.

  • 230 kV Guarapuava Oeste/Irati Norte C-1 transmission line and 230 kV Areia/Guarapuava Oeste C-1 transmission line: Three damaged towers on the shared section of the EP highway.Review of return on November 14th;

  • LT 525 kV Ivaiporã/Salto Santiago C-2: five damaged towers, with Review of return on November 16th;

  • LT 525 kV Ivaiporã/Salto Santiago C-1: It was only reported that the return is expected to take place on November 16th;

  • LT 525 kV Ivaiporã/Areia C-1: six damaged towers, with pReview of return on November 18th.

Engie

  • LT 230 kV Guarapuava Oeste/Areia C-1: Three towers were damaged and service has already been restored. restored last Monday (10), at 14:12 pm;

  • LT 525 kV Ivaiporã/Ponta Grossa C-2: There was a cable break and the expectation is that the return will occur later this Tuesday (11).
