Powersafe, a Brazilian manufacturer of batteries and energy systems, has announced its entry into the solar energy market in Brazil and is betting on the growth of hybrid projects in homes and businesses that combine photovoltaic technology with energy storage equipment. The company has a portfolio of over 400 products, which are aligned with the prospect of expansion within the solar segment in 2025.
With plants in São Paulo and Minas Gerais and over 20 years of experience with battery systems in the telecommunications, financial and industrial sectors, Powersafe will focus on strategic products to serve the photovoltaic market, prioritizing innovation, efficiency and sustainability.
Among the technologies developed for the sector, the most notable are storage batteries for photovoltaic systems, with lithium-ion, pure lead and lead-acid batteries developed for industrial, commercial and residential applications. With the Getpower Baterias Especiais brand, the solution has high energy density, allowing efficient storage in compact spaces.
Furthermore, it has a long useful life, reducing operating costs in the long term, and integration with energy management systems (EMS), which provide real-time monitoring and usage optimization.
It also offers modular storage solutions, with scalable battery systems that can be adapted as energy demand grows. It features a plug-and-play design, simplifying installation and maintenance, ideal for hybrid applications (grid and off-grid), as well as compatibility with inverters from different manufacturers, ensuring flexibility.
The company also brings to the market solutions for hybrid energy systems. The new products were officially presented at the National Meeting ABSOLAR, held between December 11th and 12th, 2024, and which brought together around 900 players from the photovoltaic sector in Brazil and abroad.
“Market analysts point to storage as one of the strategic pillars for the year 2025 in the photovoltaic sector, with an essential role in guaranteeing energy security, optimizing demand management and supporting the integration of large-scale solar systems,” commented André Ribeiro, executive at Powersafe.
“We are focusing our efforts on leading the transformation in the solar sector, with solutions that meet the growing demand for energy storage. These products represent not only a response to current market needs, but also a commitment to the sustainable and efficient future of energy,” he highlighted.
Ribeiro expects the new solar market area to grow faster than other sectors served by Powersafe, such as data centers and telecommunications. “The solar sector is expanding rapidly, driven by cost reductions and increased demand for sustainability.”
“Energy storage, essential for the efficiency of solar energy, has become a strategic segment, with global growth projections above 20% per year. This trend presents more attractive margins and a growing volume of projects, placing the photovoltaic segment as one of the main drivers of future growth for Powersafe”, he explained.
“In addition, the company’s expertise in storage positions it competitively to capture opportunities in this growing market, diversifying revenues and aligning with global demands for sustainable energy solutions,” added André Ribeiro.
Investments in 2025
In 2025, Powersafe plans to make a series of strategic investments to serve the solar market, focusing on innovation, production and expanding its presence in the sector. The main investments will be for expanding production capacity and expanding the manufacturing park, research and development, testing and certification infrastructure, training and development, technology and automation, commercial expansion and strategic partnerships.
One of the organization's commitments is to have a specialized team available to fully meet the needs of its customers. Among the various services provided, the following stand out: bank sizing, installation, technical assistance, capacity tests, battery evaluation and life tests, among others.
