In a scenario where after-sales is consolidating as a fundamental strategy among solar sector integrators, preventive maintenance of photovoltaic systems has gained increasing prominence.
The trend, pointed out by lGreener's rise in 2023, shows that activities such as module cleaning have become an important source of recurring revenue – and a competitive advantage among companies in the segment.
For João Dutra, director of 2P, preventive maintenance is essential to ensure the performance, safety and longevity of power plants. “It allows us to identify wear, failures or accumulation of dirt in modules, structures and electrical connections, before these problems affect energy generation”.
According to the executive, the recommended frequency varies depending on the location, but in general visual inspections and technical tests should be carried out every six months, and the panels can be cleaned two to four times a year, depending on the amount of dust, pollution, leaves or accumulated waste.
In addition to maintaining system efficiency, preventive maintenance ensures that the customer’s investment yields the maximum possible return. “In addition, it prevents major damage, such as corrosion, short circuits or inverter failures, which could generate high costs and long periods of downtime.”
“For the customer, this translates into reliability, greater financial return and the certainty that the system is being well looked after, which strengthens the relationship of trust with the company responsible for maintenance,” he said.
Equipment needed to perform cleaning
Choosing the right equipment is also crucial to ensuring quality and safety when cleaning the modules. Dutra emphasizes that improvising is not enough. “Only a professional cleaning tool with soft bristles and running water can perform an efficient cleaning without damaging the panels.”
“The use of neutral detergents is only recommended in cases of extreme dirt and even then the professional must be careful not to leave residues on the modules, as this can compromise the efficiency of the system,” he explained.
“It is essential to emphasize that, in addition to the equipment, the service must be carried out by qualified professionals, with technical knowledge of photovoltaic systems, and with the use of the necessary PPE and NR-35 regulations”, added the specialist.
2P Cleaner: practicality, safety and technical support
Thinking about offering a practical and efficient solution, 2P developed the 2P Cleaner, a tool specially developed for the professional cleaning of photovoltaic modules.
“It was designed to combine efficiency, practicality and safety in a single piece of equipment. The rod, made of carbon fiber, is up to five meters long, which facilitates access to difficult-to-reach areas, providing greater safety for the operator,” emphasized the director.
The cleaner's brush has three water outlets and an automatic rotation system, which is activated when the equipment is connected to a tank or tap. "This ensures uniform and efficient cleaning, without the risk of damaging the solar panels. The set also includes a 100 W water pump and an energy converter."
According to João Dutra, in addition to the quality of the equipment, 2P offers an important differential: a six-month warranty and technical support throughout the product's useful life. "Our goal is to provide peace of mind and full support to professionals working in the photovoltaic maintenance area, helping to raise the standard of the service provided and conveying more credibility to the end customer."
“In fact, until April 30th, anyone who purchases the 2P Cleaner can take advantage of an exclusive promotion: 10% discount and free shipping using the coupon CANALSOLAR10”, he concluded.

Positive market feedback
The efficiency of the product is also proven by those who use it on a daily basis. Marcos Fernandes, executive after-sales manager at EletroBidu Energia Solar, shared his positive experience with the solution.
“The equipment has made a significant difference in our industry. Our customers highly value preventative maintenance of their plants, and 2P’s cleaners offer an effective and safe solution. In addition, the partnership with 2P has been fundamental to our success, bringing recurring revenue to our company and satisfaction to our customers,” he concluded.
