A transmission capacity de renewable energy coming from the region Northeast will Bitcoin significant in Brazil from the month of April because of the completion of enterprises who were part of the Transmission Auction nº 02 of 2018.

A forecast da ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) is that new transmission lines become part of the SIN from April to June, allowing more renewable energy is transmitted to other regions.

No last year, the broadcast auctions of energy carried out in the country totaled R$37,4 billion em investments, 6,1 thousand km long. For 2024, the forecast is that the new competitions will add R$22 billion in new investments.

The following substations will be interconnected: Pacatuba, Jaguaruana II, Russas II, in Ceará, and Mossoró IV and Açu III, in Rio Grande do Norte.

As transmission lines are 480 km long, distributed in 230 kV and 500 kV. The new substations have a total transformation capacity of 3.100 MVA.

According to ONS (National Electric System Operator), the integration of new lines transmission and substations will enable the increase in energy exports from the Northeast to the regions Southeast/Central-West and North.

“This is an opportunity for us to increase the flow from photovoltaic and wind plants, even more so in the next wind harvest that starts in June and extends until November”, says Luiz Carlos Ciocchi, general director of the ONS.

With the delivery of the works, the transfer capacity from the Northeast region to the North region will be 6.200 MW.

The transfer capacity from the Northeast region to the Southeast/Central-West will be 7.200 MW, while exports from the Northeast could have a volume of up to 12.500 MW.
