One of the ways to combat the Covid-19 pandemic is to use face masks, which act as a physical barrier against the spread of the virus. With this in mind, BYD is producing more than 50 million disposable masks daily at its factory, opened at the beginning of the year in China, and is expanding production capacity at a speed of 1 million units per day.
In Brazil, given the advancement of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company also decided to commercialize the products. The masks are now available for sale, ready for delivery. Recently, BYD sent thousands of units to partner companies in the photovoltaic market free of charge.
In the United States, the state of California has already purchased 250 million masks and, in Japan, the Softbank group of companies entered into a partnership to receive 300 million masks per month.

About the factory
In January, Wang Chuanfu, global president of BYD, decided to create a factory completely separate from its other production lines and within two weeks began manufacturing face masks and sterilizing gel. A month later, it had already become one of the largest mask manufacturers in the world.
BYD masks have a triple layer of protection, are easy to breathe and have an appropriate fit to guarantee protection. The product is made with ultra-soft materials, having received quality certifications from the USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
