SecPower projects significant growth in energy storage marketa for 2025. The company is expanding its portfolio of solutions, investing in training integrators and reinforcing the need for specific regulations to enable the adoption of these technologies in Brazil.
During an exclusive interview with Canal Solar, Antonio Buccino, Commercial Director, and Marco Togniazzolo, Engineering Manager, shared their expectations, industry trends and the challenges to be overcome.
Growth and prospects for 2025
Buccino highlighted that several factors are driving this growth in the storage market, such as isolated system auctions, capacity reserve auctions, flow reversal and COP 30.
“In the case of SecPower, we are seeing growth of approximately 2024% in this segment in 30. Therefore, we are preparing for this advance, expanding the structure and investing in the evolution of solutions”, he stated.
He also highlights that the search for hybrid inverters more than doubled between 2023 and 2024, according to Google Trends metrics, which indicates an exponential growth in the demand for storage systems.
Diversified portfolio and adaptation to market needs
SecPower has been expanding its product line to meet different consumer profiles, from the agricultural sector to the commercial and industrial sectors.
According to Togniazzolo, each segment requires a specific approach. “While agribusiness needs high-power solutions and large storage capacity, the urban and residential markets require more compact systems,” he explained.
The manufacturer also invests in new technologies and tools to make the work of integrators easier. “We develop solutions that assist in the correct sizing and adequate pricing of systems, helping integrators to increase their average ticket and offer more precise solutions to their customers,” he emphasized.
Market training and awareness
Another distinguishing feature of SecPower is its continuous investment in training distributors and integrators. The Commercial Director emphasizes that the company is committed to disseminating technical knowledge and good practices in the sector.
“There are still many integrators who are just starting to familiarize themselves with the storage market. Therefore, we continue to invest in training and tools that facilitate this adaptation,” he said.
Furthermore, the Engineering Manager stressed the need to raise awareness among professionals about the importance of choosing reliable and safe solutions.
“The market is growing, and with it come products of questionable quality. We need to ensure that integrators have access to certified technologies that truly deliver performance and safety over time,” he warned.
Compatibility and integration with inverters
To ensure efficient performance, SecPower works to homologate its products with most inverters available on the market. Marco Togniazzolo explains that this is essential for the installation and proper operation of the systems.
“Our products are compatible with the vast majority of inverters. This ensures that any solution that reaches the hands of the integrator and end customer will have perfect communication and efficient operation,” he reported.
The expert adds that SecPower’s engineering team works continuously with inverter manufacturers to ensure the quality, performance and safety of the systems. “Our commitment is to ensure that the components communicate with each other and deliver the best performance.”
Regulation and incentives for the sector
The lack of specific regulations for energy storage is still a challenge in Brazil. Antonio Buccino emphasized that one of the most urgent regulatory advances is to extend the benefits of solar kits to storage systems, allowing those who already have a solar plant to add batteries.
Another way to take advantage of existing benefits, this one not dependent on regulation, is for distributors to include storage in the solar kit.
“This change would facilitate the adoption of the technology, making it more accessible and encouraging its implementation from the beginning of the project,” he explained.
Furthermore, he reinforced that energy storage solves critical issues such as flow reversal, allowing distributed generators to optimize their operations.
“There is still a way to go before storage is regulated more broadly, ensuring incentives for subsequent installation of solar power plants,” added Togniazzolo.
Message to integrators
For integrators looking to enter or expand their operations in the storage segment, Buccino emphasizes that the time is now. “We are at the right moment, with the right solutions, to solve several energy challenges in Brazil.”
“Whether to prevent power outages, unlock flow reversals or ensure safety for critical applications, energy storage is the key to democratizing access to energy in the country,” he concluded.
