Sudene (Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast) released R$ 18,1 million from the FDNE (Northeast Development Fund) for the Bom Jardim solar complex.
The project is currently in the operational testing phase in the municipality of Icó (CE). With the new investment, the fund has already allocated R$ 79 million to the project, whose total participation should reach R$ 123 million.
Between December 2025 and January of this year, the Qair International group, responsible for the project, began operational testing of the ten plants that make up the complex — considered one of the main solar projects in the Northeast of Brazil.
Project data and operational forecast
The Bom Jardim complex will have a total installed capacity of 439 MW, distributed across 706 generating units. The total investment is estimated at R$ 2,13 billion. All units are expected to be operational by December 2027.
For energy transmission, the project will have a restricted-interest transmission system, including a step-up substation and a transmission line of approximately 8 km to the Icó Substation, at 230 kV, owned by Chesf (Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco).
