The adoption of solar photovoltaic energy for self-supply in companies and industries in Brazil registered a growth of 9,7% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a survey released by TTS Energia.
This significant increase reflects the growing adoption of technology by corporations, with more than 169 new companies introducing the source into their operations between January and June 2025. The previous year, the number of adhesions had been 154 thousand.
The research, which was based on data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), points out that new photovoltaic installations for commercial, service and industrial companies totaled 1,5 GW of capacity from January to June this year.
During this period, more than 42 new solar DG (distributed generation) systems were also installed on rooftops, coverings and small plots of land.
In contrast, in the first half of 2024, connections for industries and companies totaled 39,8 thousand – indicating a growth of 5,7% in mini-plants intended for these segments.
According to TTS Energia, the expansion of solar energy in companies represents an important step toward sustainability and corporate leadership in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) agenda.
Another point, according to TTS Energia, is that solar generation not only reduces the environmental footprint, but also consolidates itself as a strategic ally for the competitiveness of Brazilian production sectors, since it enables more efficient, economical operations that are aligned with the growing demands of the market and society.
