O Brazil surpassed, during the Easter holidays, the mark of 28 GW de operational capacity em solar energy, adding the installed powers in distributed (19,68 GW) and centralized (8,39 GW) generation.
The new level was reached less than 20 days after the source reached 27 GW, on March 23, according to data of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
Since July last year, solar energy has been adding at least 1 GW to the country.
in the segment of GD (distributed generation), the modality also accounts 1,84 million photovoltaic systems installed.
In the first quarter, the modality registered the best performance in its history, with 182 thousand connections made between the months of January and March.
The segment of GC (centralized generation) this year registers an increase of more than 1 GW to the SIN (National Interconnected System). In January there were 7,3 GW of operational power compared to the current 8,39 GW.
The segment also has another 5,89 GW in projects with construction started and more than 85,5 GW in projects with construction not started, according to ANEEL.
If the growth of solar energy in Brazil continues at this rate throughout 2023, with the addition of at least 1 GW per month as has been happening, the solar source has everything it needs to overcome the barrier of 36 GW of operational capacity by the end of 2023.
