The photovoltaic plant has already been installed and will be inaugurated next Monday (11), consisting of 15 solar panels, with a peak power of 445 W, and three 1,6 kW inverters.

The investment will be just under R$20, with an estimated savings of almost R$10 per year. In other words, the system has a payback (investment return time) of less than two years.

The amount to be saved will be used to strengthen the services offered by the Melo Cordeiro Institute, which serves around 150 children in the city, with cultural, socio-emotional, environmental and social activities.

All equipment and installation were donated by the distributor. Solar Color. The project has institutional support from City Hall of Ferraz de Vasconcelos and the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

The inauguration event of the new plant will be attended by figures such as the mayor of Ferraz dos Vasconcelos, Priscila Gambale (Podemos), the executive president of ABSOLAR, Rodrigo Sauaia, the CEO of CorSolar, Bruno Reis, and the Director of Institutional Relations of the Melo Cordeiro Group, Bruno Catta Preta.

Melo Cordeiro Institute

Founded in 2011, the Melo Cordeiro Institute serves children and adolescents with an outdated socioeconomic profile, residents of vulnerable areas, favelas, communities and outskirts of the city of Ferraz de Vasconcelos.

There, young people receive cultural, educational, environmental and socio-emotional training, in addition to having access to healthy food, which is one of the institution's pillars.

It's inspiring to see the Melo Cordeiro Institute using solar energy to teach sustainability to children and teenagers. I'm curious to know how the students and their families will be involved in the project's practical activities. Will there be workshops or activities that allow them to understand firsthand how clean energy works?
