Unicamp (State University of Campinas), one of the main teaching and research institutions in Latin America, installed a solar power plant this week in partnership with the companies MTR Solar, Sungrow, Risen and VGR Energy.
The initiative will focus on applied research, technological development and training of professionals for the photovoltaic market. The plant will allow professors, researchers and students to carry out experimental studies, analyzing operational, environmental and technical variables that influence the efficiency and durability of modules and structures.
The data obtained will support improvements in design, materials and support systems, with the potential to generate more efficient, economical solutions adapted to Brazil's climate reality.
For the project, Unicamp received two significant donations from MTR Solar, which acted as the project integrator, uniting all the companies: fixed mechanical structures and tracker-type structures, which will be incorporated into the university's assets and used by the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The companies Sungrow, by donating inverters, and Risen, with the donation of HJT modules high technology, and the company VGR Energy, which did the work of raising the EPC plant, complement the project, contributing to the assembly of the mini-solar plant.
“From now on, we will be able to better understand how photovoltaic energy works, and disseminate this knowledge to the entire Brazilian population,” explained Bruno Masiero, director of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at Unicamp, Bruno Masiero.
